Question 1

What brands do you sell?

Accepted Answer

Three, all lithium-powered and street-legal: SpeedBX (our own luxury line, sold only at Delray Golf Carts), Edge EV (Phantom, Vortex, Glyde and LUX), and Moke America. We also carry select pre-owned carts.

Question 2

Do you sell lead-acid golf carts?

Accepted Answer

No. Every new cart on our floor runs a lithium battery pack. Lithium gives you more usable range, faster charging, no watering or corrosion, and a lighter cart. If you already own a lead-acid cart, we convert it.

Question 3

Can I test drive before I buy?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Saturday at our showroom at 640 NE 6th Ave, Ste A, Delray Beach. Call ahead if you want a specific cart charged and ready.

Question 4

Is the price on the website the full price?

Accepted Answer

Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude sales tax, title, registration, tag and dealer fees unless the listing says otherwise. Ask us for an out-the-door number on any cart.

Question 5

Do you take trade-ins?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any brand, electric or gas. The trade value can be applied as your down payment.

Question 6

Do you deliver?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Delivery is available across Palm Beach County and nearby — Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Highland Beach, Lake Worth Beach, West Palm Beach — and is quoted by address.

Question 7

What makes SpeedBX different?

Accepted Answer

SpeedBX is engineered around its 76.8V lithium pack and controller rather than being a standard chassis with a body kit, and it is available exclusively through Delray Golf Carts. The S4 (four-passenger) and S6 (six-passenger) come with a touchscreen, backup camera, LSV equipment and a 5kW motor.

Question 8

What is the difference between a golf cart and an LSV?

Accepted Answer

A golf cart tops out under 20 mph, has no VIN, and may only be driven on roads a city or county has specifically opened to golf carts. A Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) has a 17-digit VIN, a top speed of 20–25 mph, is titled, registered and insured, and can be driven on any public road posted 35 mph or less. Every new cart we sell is street ready.

Question 9

Can I make my existing golf cart street legal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Florida allows a golf cart to be converted and retitled as a Low-Speed Vehicle, but it has to meet every standard: 20–25 mph top speed, headlights, tail and brake lights, turn signals, reflectors, mirrors, AS1/AS4 windshield with wiper, seat belts at every seat, parking brake, horn, SMV emblem, and a GVWR under 3,000 lbs. The conversion is then documented (HSMV 86064 affidavit, Statement of Builder, parts receipts, photos), the cart is inspected by FLHSMV, and it receives a Florida-assigned VIN so it can be titled, registered and insured. We do the upgrade and the paperwork in-house; the cart must be able to reach 20 mph, so some lead-acid carts also need a lithium pack or controller upgrade.

Question 10

Do I need a license and insurance for an LSV?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An LSV requires a valid driver's license and Florida's PIP and property-damage liability minimums, the same as a car.

Question 11

Do you handle the title and registration?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every street-legal cart we sell leaves with its title, Florida registration and plate handled for you. No DMV trips.

Question 12

Where can I drive a golf cart in Delray Beach?

Accepted Answer

Delray Beach is one of the most golf-cart-friendly cities in South Florida: LSVs are driven downtown, to the beach and between the Intracoastal neighborhoods, and the city lets carts park in standard marked spaces in public lots and garages. Our guide covers the local rules, parking and which roads qualify.

Question 13

Can I drive an LSV on A1A or Federal Highway?

Accepted Answer

Only on sections posted 35 mph or less. Much of A1A through Delray Beach and Highland Beach qualifies; most of Federal Highway does not, though an LSV may cross it at an intersection.

Question 14

How far does a lithium golf cart go on a charge?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the pack. The SpeedBX 76.8V 150Ah pack is rated for up to 50 miles; Edge EV models are rated up to about 50 miles; Moke America packs range 45–60 miles depending on the model. Real-world range varies with speed, passengers and terrain.

Question 15

How do I charge it at home?

Accepted Answer

Every cart we sell plugs into a standard household outlet with the included charger. A full charge typically takes about six to eight hours.

Question 16

Can a golf cart charge at a public EV charger?

Accepted Answer

With our J1772 Level 2 retrofit, yes — the cart plugs into the same Level 2 stations electric cars use, and into a home EV charger. Tesla Destination chargers need a NACS-to-J1772 adapter; Superchargers are not compatible with any golf cart.

Question 17

How much more range does a lithium conversion give?

Accepted Answer

A like-for-like lithium pack usually delivers 1.5–2× the usable range of the lead-acid pack it replaces, because lithium delivers nearly its full rated capacity and the cart gets lighter.

Question 18

Will a lithium conversion damage my controller or motor?

Accepted Answer

Not when the pack is matched to the cart's nominal voltage and the controller limits are set correctly, which is part of every conversion we do.

Question 19

Can you convert my Moke to lithium?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We build MILD and MAX lithium packs for Moke America with OEM dashboard integration and J1772 / Tesla-compatible charging, installed in Delray Beach.

Question 20

Do you service carts I didn't buy from you?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We repair and upgrade all major electric brands — Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha, Moke, ICON, Evolution, GEM and more — including batteries, controllers, chargers, motors, brakes and LSV lighting.

Question 21

Do you pick up the cart?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pickup and return are free within 10 miles of our Delray Beach shop with an approved repair, and quoted by address beyond that across Palm Beach and Broward counties. Diagnostics are free with an approved repair.

Question 22

How long does a repair take?

Accepted Answer

Most repairs are same-week. Lithium conversions and charging retrofits are typically scheduled within a week and completed in one to two days once parts are in hand.

Question 23

My cart has no power or cuts out. What's wrong?

Accepted Answer

The most common causes are a weak battery pack, a failing solenoid, a controller fault, or a bad connection. We diagnose it with the cart on the bench rather than guessing with parts.

Question 24

Can you make my cart faster?

Accepted Answer

Yes — controller programming, controller and motor upgrades, and lithium conversions all raise speed and acceleration. For an LSV we keep it within the 25 mph legal limit.

Question 25

What do I need to rent a golf cart?

Accepted Answer

A valid driver's license, a credit card for the security deposit, a signed rental agreement, and you must be 21 or older. Insurance is included in the rental rate.

Question 26

How do I know if a cart is available?

Accepted Answer

Pick your dates on the rentals page — every cart shows live availability. Send a request and we confirm by phone or text, usually within the hour during business hours. Nothing is charged until we confirm.

Question 27

Do you deliver rentals?

Accepted Answer

Yes, throughout the area including Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach. Delivery fees vary by distance.

Question 28

Are the rental carts street legal?

Accepted Answer

Most of the fleet is street ready and registered for roads posted 35 mph or less. We'll confirm the specifics for the cart you choose.

Question 29

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your rental starts. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a one-day rental fee.

Question 30

Do you offer financing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Apply online in about five minutes, we call you with your options, and you can finance any cart in our inventory. Financing is through third-party lenders and subject to credit approval.

Question 31

What do I need to apply?

Accepted Answer

A valid driver's license, your contact information and basic income details. For a street-legal LSV you'll also need proof of Florida insurance before registration, which we help arrange.

Question 32

Can I finance a used cart or a lithium conversion?

Accepted Answer

Yes. New and pre-owned carts can be financed, and a lithium upgrade or accessories can be rolled into the same loan when you buy from us.

Question 33

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Cash, cards and wire transfer, in addition to financing.
